Founder, Jared Merz
Jared brings over 19 years of expertise to the landscape industry, with a career spanning all aspects of landscape architecture, from visionary design to hands-on construction. A graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Jared’s passion for the craft was shaped by a rich and diverse educational journey. While in school, he studied abroad in Japan and Thailand, immersing himself in the art of garden design, and gained practical experience through internships with the Parks Department in Luxembourg, as well as iconic U.S. institutions like Central Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Queens Botanic Garden.
After graduation, Jared joined the world-renowned landscape architecture firm EDSA, where he refined his skills on high-profile projects. Eventually, he returned to Oklahoma, working with HFSD Inc. and later Total Environment, where he mastered the intricacies of landscape construction. This blend of global design inspiration and deep construction knowledge laid the foundation for founding MOD Exteriors. Today, Jared leads MOD Exteriors with a commitment to creating modern, sustainable outdoor spaces that reflect his extensive experience and dedication to excellence.
